Personal Update 91 lbs lost
The weight loss has continued to come off but it’s coming off very very slowly. I have consistently been meal prepping weekly but I’m having a hard time getting seeing results with diet alone still. I decided that I needed to begin exercising regularly back on my last personal update on June 1st but I didn’t actually start doing it until 2 weeks ago. It took me a while to get motivated and find something I really wanted to do every day.
I saw some girls doing workouts with resistance bands on Instagram and realized that would be perfect for me since I don’t have a lot of space for equipment and I’m SO over trying to get to the gym, I just hate it there! I bought some resistance bands from Amazon.ca and found a few workout videos on Youtube by The Live Fit Girl to follow along to. I do 2 of those and then a bunch of The Fitness Marshall and Dance Fitness with Jessica videos. I do as many as the kids will let me, usually around 6 before they beg me to get out of the way so they can play! It takes about an hour and a half to do everything.
The last few weekends have been spent doing fun summer stuff so that has also hindered weight loss a bit. Last weekend the kids were away at Grandmas so we had a nice date night on Saturday, a hike Sunday morning and went to a concert that night. We ate a lot of junk but we had a lot of fun. So I’m spending this week digging myself out of the hole.
The hike was interesting though, I hadn’t done the Abby Grind since last summer, at around 200lbs. The first time, I remember getting to the 1/4 mark and being ready to cry and on the way up having to stop many times because I was out of breath. Tears were shed. This time though no tears and fewer times stopping, I wasn’t out of breath, just fatigued legs. It was still very challenging and I’m super sore two days later!
This week I’m making an orzo salad with salmon burgers for me and chicken thighs for Ryan. I also cut up a whole watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew for breakfasts this week. I’ve been eating fresh fruit for breakfast every day for about 3 weeks and I’m still not sick of it. Recipes for the orzo salad and chicken thighs will be up soon!
